Merge Fruit Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Left click or tap anywhere on the welcome screen to begin.

  • Basic rules
    • Drop the fruits into the bottom of the screen.
    • Merge fruits by dropping identical fruits on top of one another.
      • If the placement is ideal, multiple groups of fruits can merge at once.
      • Keep merging fruits until you achieve the watermelon. When a watermelon is formed it is removed from the playing field.
      • Merge fruits for as long as you can until you run out of space.
    • Use the game’s physics to your advantage.
      • Gravity will force the fruits to roll down toward one another.
      • Dropping the fruits at the right spot can trigger a chain reaction that lets you form new fruits with little effort on your part.
      • Dropping fruit on the side of another fruit can push the lower fruit horizontally across the screen.
    • When the fruits reach the dotted line on top of the screen, the game ends.
      • The dotted line only appears when your stack of fruits approaches its height.
      • When a fruit pops out of the dotted line, you can add no more fruits.
      • The fruits on screen all pop.
      • The game only pops if the fruit you add goes above the line.
        • If the fruit you add falls below the line and a separate fruit then moves above it as it is displaced your gameplay continues.
  • Scoring
    • Each fruit you merge is worth the value of the fruit it is converted into.
    • As you merge into larger fruits the point values increase by 1 for each tier.
    • When you reach the dashed horizontal brown bar all of your remaining fruit on the screen pop and you score that many additional points.
  • Tips
    • Fruit must directly touch to merge. Sometimes smaller fruits can block the ability of larger fruits to touch each other.
    • Try to place smaller fruits toward the sides so they fall away from the center and have a lower odds of ruining your merges.
    • You get to see the current fruit you will drop & in the upper right corner you also see the “next up” fruit, so try to consider where the next fruit may best go before laying the current fruit.
    • If the fruit you are dropping does not have an easy merge you can in some cases drop it on the side or edge of another fruit to push the other fruit toward its match.

We published this game on our site on March 23, 2023. A similar game was Developed by Aladin X and initially released as a Nintendo Switch game as Suika Game on December 9, 2021 in Japan. The game, which is also known as Watermelon Game, later released globally on October 20, 2023.

The Nintendo Switch game was inspired by a Chinese web browser game called Synthetic Big Watermelon, or 合成大西瓜. Game developer Meadow Science, or 米兜科技, published the browser game in January 2021. On Sina Weibo over 1.4 billion people searched for the game.

The Nintendo eShop game was hard to access for the global audience as it initially required a Japanese account. It did not have much success globally until it became a popular game to stream among VTubers in September of 2023. That spike in popularity caused Nintendo to allow access to the game globally. Within a couple months the game received millions of downloads from the Nintendo eShop.

Sukia Game Differences

• Scoring system: The scoring system on our game is a linear increase in points for each fruit popped, based on fruit size. The scoring system on the Nintendo version of the game increments by one additional count on each tier up, going from 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21, 28, 36, 45, 55, and 66. The Nintendo version of the game shows a top scores section of current players in the lower left.
• Fruit types: Our game features 12 fruits, whereas the Nintendo version has 11.
• Up next: In our game you see the fruit you will drop, but do not get to see the next up fruit. The Nintendo version of the game also shows the next up fruit in the upper right corner.
